Not Too Late for Trail Plan Input

Some of you stopped by the Briar Patch last night to contribute your trail knowledge to the Western Nevada County Non-motorized Recreational Trails Master Plan (whew... that is a mouthful). I arrived later and it was great to see our collective annotations to these maps. I saw some existing trail routes I did not know about, which made the maps fascinating to review.

If you missed last night's session, you can still participate. According to the County:

Upcoming Public Workshop: The Planning Department will be hosting a public workshop on Monday June, 1 2009 in the Nevada County Board of Supervisors Chambers to initiate the 45 day comment period for the draft trails plan, map, and proposed mitigated negative declaration. The workshop will include a staff presentation and an opportunity to review large scale maps and provide comments. This meeting will mark the beginning of a week dedicated to National Trails Day event on June 6, 2009. There will be information related to this project available at the National Trails Day event.

Let's keep up our participation in this initiative to make sure that new local trails are built and existing trails are improved!

The trails public workshop is on Monday June 1 from 6-8 pm at the County Administration Center (Rood Center) on Hwy 49 in Nevada City. There will be two parts of the workshop. The first part will be a staff presentation and Q & A in the Board Chambers. The second part will be a trail mixer where four stations will be set up in the lobby. Each station will feature a different benefit of the regional trail system and display a different section of the draft map for people to review and provide comments.
